We invite anyone with an interest in or practice of food growing and gardening to join us.
Our supporter membership is a way for individuals, organisations and businesses to support our work financially, while also getting access to an amazing community (and some fun added benefits).
If you are a Waltham Forest-based community garden, we would love to welcome you as an organisation member.

Come along to one of our bi-monthly drop-ins! We can connect you with a volunteering session that suits you, or share the contact details of an organiser who shares your passions.
Can’t make any of our upcoming dates? Drop us an email, and we’d be happy to help get you started on your growing journey!

To continue to build this powerful and ambitious movement for change, we need durable and independent organisations which can survive beyond funding cycles. That’s why, in 2026, we have formalised our membership offer, transitioning from mostly a grant-funded organisation to becoming a dues-paying organisation.
By giving an annual or monthly donation to the FGN, you can help support our work to build a stronger food sovereignty movement in Waltham Forest.

We currently support over 50 growing sites across Waltham Forest.
From 12 acres of farmland to roadside raised beds, community gardens, allotments, even windowsill micro-greens, we are working to connect any type of food-growing project set up to enrich and support the residents of our borough and beyond!
You don’t need land to join us, only a desire for a better food system.

Coined by La Vía Campesina, the international peasant farmers' movement, in 1996, food sovereignty is the idea that the people who eat and grow food should have the deciding say over how food is produced, distributed and consumed where they live.
We, the people, should decide what gets grown, where, how, with whose seeds, and on whose land rather than corporations, distant supply chains, supermarkets or governments.
Waltham Forest has huge potential for growing space. We want to build a more just, more resilient, and more democratic food system, right on our doorstep.
